Robert Gibson
Robert Gibson was educated at Newcastle Royal Grammar School and studied law at Newcastle University. He qualified as a solicitor in 1984 and is now the firm’s managing partner and head of civil litigation, specialising in employment and business law. He also sits as a deputy district judge. He enjoys playing golf, walking and is a youth rugby coach.

Sally Lomas Fletcher
Sally Lomas Fletcher commenced her career at Samuel Phillips Law Firm in 1998, having studied at Nottingham Trent University. She now specialises solely in employment law. One of her cases, Armstrong v Newcastle upon Tyne Hospitals NHS Trust, reached the Court of Appeal in 2005. She is a member of both the Employment Lawyers’ Association and the Newcastle upon Tyne Employment Tribunal User Group.
Aidan McGuire
Aidan McGuire joined Samuel Phillips from the in-house legal department of a large multi-national group of companies, Thales. His training was split between corporate and commercial work as well as working within more specialised legal departments. He worked with a wide range of clients from HR professionals to managing directors.
Shirley Scott
Shirley qualified as a Solicitor in 2001. Before joining the employment team at Samuel Phillips, she practised in the field of professional regulation, acting for one of the healthcare regulators, handling a broad range of conduct and capability cases. In her spare time Shirley is often seen enjoying the open roads with her husband in their classic 1970 Lotus Elan.
